Abstract
During the past 5 years, considerable progress has been made in using ultrasonic tissue characterization techniques to assess the acoustic properties of myocardium as an indicator of its structural and functional features. This review summarizes the experimental and clinical investigations in which tissue characterization by radiofrequency signal analysis has been used to study myocardial ischemia and infarction.
