Abstract

Primary pulmonary malignancies are rare in the age-group less than 20 years. This chapter serves to outline the diverse primary neoplasms originating in the thorax in children, most of these being malignant. The epidemiology of primary pulmonary neoplasms in children is described. Presenting symptomatology of the various intrathoracic tumors in children is summarized, as are the diagnostic strategies. The various histologies are reviewed.
