Abstract
Metastatic spinal disease is difficult to manage. The surgical options are greater now that our understanding of the disease has improved and anesthetic and reconstructive procedures are better. Prostate cancer is unusual in that both blastic and lytic responses often are seen in the vertebral bodies.
