Abstract
The metasedimentary rocks, on the basis of field observations and petrography, are interpreted as deposits of a near-tidal to fluviatile environment lying directly on a gneissic basement. Subsequent metamorphism led to the beginning of muscovite + quartz breakdown with local melting. The proposed original unconformable contact relationship indicates substantial crustal movement since the formation of the gneisses approx 3750 m.y. -W.S.W.
