Abstract
In this article the author systematyzes the existing data and presents some new findings regarding the uniquely narcissistic 'way of life,' i.e., the functional dynamics of narcissistic personality structure. More precisely, patterns through which narcissistic individuals attempt to confirm their grandiosity in the external world, as well as stereotyped cycles (zest alternating with disappointment) that reflect narcissistc persons' futile efforts to feed their grandiose expectations, are discussed. At the end of the article, the author schematically presents the overall clinical features of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
