Abstract

Variations of clinical, biochemical, and morphologic characteristics of carcinoids usually depend on the location of the tumor. In addition to being aware of these differences, to effect proper therapy the clinician must understand the myriad endocrinologic manifestations of these neoplasms. The pathology, clinical evolution, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of carcinoid tumors are reviewed.
