Abstract
Lower urinary tract symptoms are very common in the older adult. These complaints may be intrinsic to the bladder itself or a sign related to a larger disease process. The bladder goes through a number of changes with ageing both anatomic and physiologic. These changes influence our understanding of lower urinary tract syndromes in the ageing patient and impact how one diagnoses and treats these disorders.
