Abstract
An 11-year-old boy presented with a 7-year history of waxing and waning papulonodular lesions on the extremities. A Tc-99m methylene diphosphonate (MDP) whole-body bone scan showed multiple areas of irregularly increased uptake in the skin and subcutaneous tissues on the posterior aspect of both lower extremities. Skin biopsy demonstrated deposition of calcium salts in the dermis, confirming a diagnosis of calcinosis cutis.
