Abstract
An iridacyclohexene complex, [formula omitted] (4), and its irida-cyclohexadiene analogue, [formula omitted] (6), have been synthesized and spectroscopically characterized. These novel unsaturated six-membered metallacycles are obtained via synthetic routes that utilize pentadienide as the source of ring carbon atoms.
