Abstract

Spinal cord injury is known to have an impact on sexuality, fertility, and reproductive health for both men and women. Healthcare providers should have an understanding of these topics when caring for those with spinal cord injury, as there is a high potential to impact an individual’s quality of life and future life plans and goals. The following questions and explanations serve as a review of key content of the physiologic changes, evaluation, management, and impact of spinal cord injury on sexuality, fertility, and reproductive health.
