Abstract

Laparoscopic colectomy has been proven as a safe technique that has some advantages over open surgery in terms of recovery and postoperative pain. This chapter describes the straight laparoscopic approach to a right colectomy or ileocolic resection. While the chapter discusses the various approaches, the inferior approach is emphasized.
