Reflections on the pioneering contributions of Professor Kurt Hohenemser to helicopters and wind turbines

This paper presents a historical account of Professor Kurt Hohenemser's career and contributions to the theory and development of helicopters and wind turbines over a period of nearly 65 years-starting with his research at the University of Göttingen and his subsequent work at Flettner Aircraft in Germany, followed by his work at McDonnell Aircraft in St. Louis and his career as a faculty member at Washington University in St. Louis.
