Abstract

Reconstruction of large auricular defects can be a complex and technically challenging process. Large defects of the cartilaginous framework require replacement with a new material to re-establish contour and structure. The most commonly used materials are autologous rib, homologous irradiated rib, prosthetic reconstruction with osseointegrated implant, and polyethylene implant.
