Abstract

This chapter outlines the basic history, indications, contraindications, and technique for performing routine percutaneous gastrostomy. The arguments for gastrostomy versus placement of a gastrojejunostomy tube are discussed. The clinical preprocedural, post-procedural, and follow-up care is given.
