Abstract

The synthesis of (oxapentadienyl)rhodium complexes was presented. The resulting complexes were 16e species in which the oxapentadienyl ligands were coordinated in an η3-allyl fashion to the rhodium centers. The reactivity of the electron-rich complexes toward simple nucleophiles and electrophiles was explored. X-ray crystal structures of representative complexes were obtained, and a variety of dynamic processes were probed by variable-temperature nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).
