Abstract

Various strategies may be employed to minimize the uncertainties of radiation planning and delivery. Alternate imaging techniques may be brought into the planning process to assist target delineation. Bowel and bladder protocols may be employed to reduce inter-and intra-fraction motion and deformation, and pelvic immobiliza-tion may be used to reduce patient intrafraction motion, as may prostate immobilization using an intrarectal balloon.
