Abstract

In this chapter, we present the basic function and physiology of the ovary. This information is needed to study ovarian toxicology, especially because one must rst know what is normal before one can understand the impact of toxicants. This chapter presents a broad overview of ovarian physiology and concludes with suggestions for how toxicants may impact the function of the ovary.
