Abstract

We have studied the effects of probe parameters upon reconstructed optical properties, such as the optimal number of sources and detectors necessary for reconstructing optical properties within certain accuracy, effects of source and detector position errors. A frequency domain model with 140 MHz modulation frequency is used in computer simulations. The results based on linear perturbation theory within Born approximation have showed that the reconstructed optical properties are within 10% if the total number of detectors deployed over 9 cm by 9 cm area is greater than 13 while the total number of sources varies between 40 and 16. These simulation results will be verified by measurements.
