Abstract
There are many current strategies for normalizing coronal and sagittal profile in the idiopathic adolescent and adult scoliosis patient. Anterior and posterior approaches have their advantages and limitations. Many factors have to be considered in determining the 'best' approach, as idiopathic scoliosis presents with a wide diversity of deformity and curve pattern. Those points are reviewed in this manuscript.
