Abstract

This study failed to find significant individual or group differences in brain morphology between schiphrenics and matched medical controls. The possible reasons for the discrepancy between this and previous studies include: differing populations (age, diagnostic criteria, severity of illness, type of hospital sampled from, etc.), differing methodology (type of scanners, indices measured and means of measurement), and inherent variability in the atrophy process itself.
