Abstract

Since the original description by Maroteaux and associates, thanatophoric dwarfism has become a well-defined clinical and pathologic entity, distinct from the other chondrodysplasias. Although a few abnormalities exclusive of the musculoskeletal system have been described in association with thanatophoric dwarfism, there is but a single case with a renal abnormality which was hydronephrosis. We report the first case of nodular renal blastema (NRB) in a thanatophoric dwarf.
