Abstract

We are developing a novel approach based on ELISA using gold nanoparticles which allows determination of appropriate markers in the blood serum whereby solving several problems in biochemical diagnostic of neurodegenerative processes. Signal amplification is achieved by binding of selected antibody to gold nanoparticle covered with DNA fragments, followed by DNA amplification and real-time PCR determination. This approach provides higher senstitivity compared to the recently used clinical methods.
