Abstract
Mechanisms responsible for protective immunity against epicutaneous Candida infections are incompletely characterized. In this issue of Immunity, Kashem etal. demonstrate that different Candida life forms engage selected skin dendritic cell subsets in distinct compartments, resulting in qualitatively different immune responses.
