Abstract
Signal transduction is an important consequence of T-cell antigen activation. A fundamental group of molecules, the adapter proteins, are involved during both the early signal transduction and the later IL-2- induced phases. In this article, Joanne Pratt and colleagues review our current understanding of these molecules' key role in the translation of cellular stimuli into a nuclear event that results in cell proliferation and cytokine production.
