Abstract
The joining of dissimilar materials is a well-studied problem in mechanics, but nevertheless a persistent challenge. This chapter presents an overview of some of these challenges by summarizing key model problems. The problems presented here fall under the category of small-strain, linear elasticity solutions. We discuss these solutions in the context of the attachment of tendon to bone.
