Abstract
D. Prelec (see record 1982-22589-001) argues that the results obtained under concurrent and single schedules of reinforcement strongly favor the matching interpretation of equilibrium behavior as Ss do not seem to be influenced by the marginal reinforcement rates that define the maximizing behavior distribution. The present authors point out a number of flaws in Prelec's marginality arguments and present data demonstrating the superiority of maximizing over matching as descriptive of choice behavior.
