Abstract

Marijuana and its derivatives may be of use in the therapy of a number of medical conditions including the glaucomas. More research is required to substantiate earlier results and to resolve apparent contradictions. This research is best done if controlled trials can be conducted in a milieu divorced from the controversy surrounding marijuana decriminalization. Reclassification as a Schedule II drug would be a significant step in this process.
