Abstract
Margarite (end-member CaAl2Si2Al2O10) is reported as nodular aggregates partly replacing corundum and biotite in an inclusion of migmatitic plagioclase-rich gneiss within the Qorqut granite. Retrograde reaction in the presence of volatiles is suggested in which biotite + or - plagioclase + or - corundum go to an assemblage containing margarite + muscovite + epidote. Cell parameters and chemical data are presented.-W.S.W.
