Abstract

Over the past 2 decades, findings from numerous prospective randomized clinical trials have radically altered the approach to treating patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI). The author, a specialist in geriatric cardiology, provides a concise review of published data on the management of acute MI in elderly patients. He also gives detailed information regarding the classification of diagnostic and therapeutic recommendations.
