Abstract

The term "terrible triad of the elbow" describes the combination of a traumatic elbow dislocation, radial head fracture, and associated coronoid fracture. This chapter focuses on the evaluation, treatment options, published outcomes, and complications of terrible triad injuries of the elbow. A systematic approach to the management of this injury complex is provided, with an emphasis on the understanding of the pathoanatomy and current surgical treatments.
