Abstract
This article reviews the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and preoperative and postoperative management of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Early recognition, prevention, and treatment of delayed ischemic deficits due to vasospasm are emphasized. Cardiopulmonary and other medical complications of subarachnoid hemorrhage are discussed.
