N2 - This article analyzes the topic of Brazilian coalition presidentialism. It offers the reader a close look at coalitional presidentialism in each of Brazil's governments since the democratization of the country to the present day, presenting the complex relations between the Legislative Branch and the Executive Branch at these different moments in Brazil's political history. The main focus of the article is to relate the impacts of “Lava Jato” to this process, seeking to indicate possible consequences of this operation, which caused great repercussions on Brazilian politics, to this scenario of the relationship between the Executive and Legislative branches.
