Abstract
An analysis is made of transmission of a normally incident electromagnetic wave through a two-layer ferromagnetic film and reflection from it, with magnetization vectors of the layers oriented in the plane of the film, but not parallel to one another. Jones matrices are obtained, which determine all the main magnetooptical characteristics of a film (the transmittance and the reflectivity, the degrees of polarization of the transmitted and reflected waves, etc.). These characteristics are shown to be substantially dependent on the angle between the magnetization vectors in the layers.
