Abstract

A new device concept to overcome the current limitations of flow-guided transfemoral embolization of cerebral AVMs is presented. It involves a magnetic surgery system (MSS) that magnetically manipulates the tip of the microcatheter. This concept has been validated via testing using transparent glass intracranial vascular models of the anterior cerebral circulation.
