Abstract

We report the use of a right axillary skin incision to institute a ventricle assist device support in a two-year-old 14-kg male with fulminant myocarditis. The ease of conversion to a long-term support, avoidance of a sternotomy, and a less visible incision made this approach an attractive option in this group of sick patients. doi: 10.1111/jocs.12342 (J Card Surg 2014;29:581-583)
