Abstract

Cytotoxic lectins are proteins that bind oligosaccharides on mammalian cell surfaces and kill the cells. Variants have been selected from established cell lines which are resistant to such lectins. These variants are aiding our understanding of the biological role and mode of assembly of cell surface oligosaccharides.
