    Abstract

    This entry focuses on the role of Latin American literature of the twentieth century in shaping a postcolonial thinking in the region. It discusses an intellectual genealogy of literary thought in the region's decolonization, and then proceeds to discuss the legacies of modernismo, poetry, fiction, and other trends and genres.
