Abstract

(Chemical Equation Presented) A new enantioselective acylation catalyst (CI-PIQ), designed to provide enhanced π-stacking with benzylic and cinnamyl alcohol substrates, was found to give considerably increased reaction rates and selectivities compared with the first-generation catalyst CF₃-PIP.
