Abstract

Iterative decoding and equalization for 2-D recording channels were discussed. The use of low density parity check codes (LDPCC) as an error correcting code (ECC) in conjunction with equalization methods, iterative and otherwise, for a 2-D recording medium was presented. Equalization was performed using a Wiener filter which was designed subject to input power constraint.
