Abstract
A 16-year-old boy presented with an isolated blowout fracture of the medial orbital wall plus entrapment of the medial rectus muscle. There was limitation of abduction but no retraction on abduction. The diagnosis was made with muscle fields, laminography; and muscle traction tests. At surgery the muscle was freed from its entrapment and the defect in the ethmoid bone repaired by a subperiosteal silicone plastic implant.
