Abstract

Creating an iridectomy in the face of rubeosis iridis carries a significant risk of hyphema. A technique is described utilizing a bipolar micro cautery to cauterize iris vessels under direct observation before cutting iris tissue. This allows the iridectomy to be performed with less risk of intraocular bleeding.
