Abstract
Stewart Cohen is one of the most influential contemporary epistemologists. Below, we’ll discuss five key areas in which Cohen's thought has set the agenda for further discussion: the new evil demon problem, the problem of easy knowledge, epistemic contextualism and related views, Cohen's thoughts on the notion of justification and the abuse of “epistemic” by epistemologists, and his views on the interplay between oughts, reasons, and rationality. Besides his groundbreaking written output, Cohen is a formidable philosophical interlocutor, an inspiring teacher, and an invaluable colleague. We are happy that a group of great philosophers can join us in this examination of the work of our friend.
