Interaction of silver ions with polyguanylic acid in isoionic solutions without support electrolyte

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Potentiometry with an Ag+-selective electrode, pH-metry, and circular dichroism spectroscopy are used to study the interaction of silver ions with polyguanylic acid in isoionic solutions without support electrolyte. The stoichiometry, location of binding sites, and the binding constants for interaction of Ag+ ions with both forms of polyguanylic acid are determined. A reaction mechanism is suggested. The results obtained are compared with the literature data.
