Abstract

We investigated initial and long term effects of 4MRad of gamma irradiation sterilization on anterior cruciate ligament allograft viscoelasticity have been investigated. Initially, grafts irradiated to 4MRad, when tested in air, exhibit a more elastic response (stress relax less) than their contralateral control grafts. However, at 6 months post-surgery, this difference is not evident.
