Abstract
Thermosensitive N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm)-co-(N-propylacrylamide (NPAAm)-co-vinyl pyrrolidone (VP) terpolymers (PNINAVP) were synthesized by conventional free-radical polymerization. The thermoresponsive behaviour of their solutions was investigated by turbidimetry and dynamic contact angle (DCA) measurements. The sol-gel transition of the copolymer solutions occurred reversibly within 30 s, in response to the change of temperature. In vitro embolic model experiments indicated that a 5 wt% solution of 16:16:1 PNINAVP had a satisfactory embolization effect.
