Abstract

Summaryo1.A simple method of partial cardiopulmonary bypass for support of critically ill patients with pulmonary embolus is presented.2.This technic may be easily converted to total bypass with venting of the right heart without changing catheters or interrupting the supportive bypass.3.Closed chest partial cardiopulmonary bypass is effective in lowering pulmonary arterial flow.
