Abstract

Effective collaboration between OTs and OTAs in practice warrants the educational preparation of students to function as intraprofessional team members. Giving consideration to OT and OTA role delineation and service competency is integral to this educational process for sustainable and effective intraprofessional collaborative practice. With this intention, the delivery of occupational therapy services will adhere to federal and state regulations and dovetail with existing professional guidelines and supervisory levels (AOTA, 2014, 2015b). With a mindful focus on the intraprofessional collaboration components of education and practice, occupational therapy will be a win-win for clients, payers, and practitioners alike.
