Abstract
Abdominal emergencies in infants and children include traumatic and nontraumatic conditions. This article provides a clinical overview and reviews the rationale for imaging and important imaging features of the most common causes of surgical abdomen. The relative role of various imaging procedures in guiding therapeutic decisions is discussed.
