N2 - One hundred endometrial carcinoma specimens were analyzed for estrogen receptor content and histologic composition. Benign tissue elements were identified in the majority of tissue sections. Histologic control of endometrial carcinoma specimens submitted for steroid receptor analysis is critical, because biochemical assays of whole tissue homogenates cannot determine receptor localization among tissue components.
