Abstract

Modern hip resurfacing arthroplasty has been utilized for hip reconstruction in young, active individuals for over 20 years. Its success has varied widely as a result of implant specific, surgeon specific and patient specific factors. History has taught us that these factors are critical in achieving a successful long-term outcome with hip resurfacing arthroplasty.
